Printmaking
I haven't made a whole ton of Printmaking pieces, but I really have enjoyed the processes of each of these.
Disolve
This is an Intaglio or Photo-Etching print. It was created by printing the design I had drawn onto a transparent piece of plastic, laying that on a specially treated plate of metal, then exposing to to. bright UV light. This process burned the image onto the plate which I then cleaned and ran through the printing press.
Weight
For this Copper Plate print, I created the design, then coated a sheet of copper with a special paste, baked it to set it, then began to carve my design. Once that was done, I dunked the plate in acid. Where I had carved, the copper plate was exposed and the acid ate at it. I cleaned the paste off the plate and ran it through the press. Super in love with this one
Worship
This was made similarly to the Intaglio print, but instead of running it through the printer with an inked plate, I ran it through with a clean plate and it created what is called an Embossed Print.
Life from Death
This is a Linoleum Cut print. It's made by carving a design into a piece of linoleum with sharp tools. I only cut my fingers a few times making this print.
